  • Adding a Diffuser & Essential Oils

What is one of the first things you notice when walking into a spa or retreat? THE SMELL! As one of your six senses, I know when I enter a spa, resort or retreat the first thing I pick up on is the smell of the place. The beautiful relaxing aromas as you walk in. Having an infuser with essential oils can help balance your mind and body. Lavender for example is great for relaxation, it’s soothing assistance can help when it comes to getting a good night sleep.

  • Herbal Drinks

At a Spa you will be offered a Herbal Tea or an Apple Cider vinegar shot on arrival. Hollistic health drinks are a much better alternative to your energy drinks, caffiene and soda. Herbal Tea and Apple Cidar vinegar help aid digestions and support the normal function of your gut to help flush out any toxins left behind.

  • Move Your Body

At any health retreat there will be physical activity on the schedule, moving your body in activity is vital to your overall health and well-being but you do not have to do 30 minutes - 1 hour of a vigerous workout. You can do as little as 8 minutes of yoga stretches in the morning or as part of your night time routine. Going for a light walk outoors is great for your mental and physical health, dedicate a small amount of time just to movement.

  • Swap the Snacks

Think of some of your favourite snacks you currently have; maybe they’re a packet of potato chips, reduced snack bar or even just the 3pm pick me up chocolate intake. Retreats encourage to flourish your body through nutrients and having a healthy snack intake is number one! Swap your snacks to wholefoods, some ideas are boiled eggs, carrot sticks, celery and homemade fresh dip, protein bliss balls and that’s just a few!

  • Soundscapes and Meditation

The white noise of everyday life can be deafening, when you come home aim to make it your place of serenity. Soundscape music or meditation sound in the background of your home can ease anxiety and irritability, leaaving you feel calmer and more relaxed after a day in the life.

I highly reccomend downloading the Calm App. I advise this in every coaching session, not only do they have soundscape music but include meditation practices, guided meditation and masterclasses from guest speakers such as Elizabeth Gillbert.

  • Cleanse the air

Create purity in your home by cleansing the air. As recommended for many years a Sage Smudge is used to purify the air with the natural herbs which helps rid of negative energy and is used to support sleep.

Himalayan Salt Lamps are suggested to produce ions by attracting water particles that evaporate off as a salt solution when heated by the lamp, forming mostly negative ions. Besides its feung shui -like look, it can be a great addition to your home

  • Skin Care Routine

Who else loves getting a facial? I sure do!

Taking time to look after your skin not only help lift impurities and supports hydration to your face but is also incredibly relaxing! If you live with someone, take turns to apply your favourite face mask to each other and lay down listening to a meditation or soundscape while its application time passes by.

  • Person Development Reading

Taking time to read personal development or self help books are a great way to protect and strengthen your mental health. Swap out the gossip magazine and the drama Netflix series for a empowering read instead- my recommendations are Tony Robbins, Lorna Jane, The Success Principles by Jack Canfield and What a Time to be Alone by Children Eggerue but caution confidence and self belief may occur as a side effect!
